RFK Jr, as the HHS Secretary has ruffled feathers and then some down at the CDC and some in Congress. He's fired long time players. He's brought in new blood. He's doing something about the food supply. Because the US has the sickest people in the developed world. And, we spend at least double what the next highest spending country does for that result.
He's repeatedly noted that we are a sick nation. 75% have a chronic disease. 40% of KIDS have a chronic disease. Whatever the Dept of Health and Human Services has been doing clearly is not creating health.
Yet, he's got legislators in an uproar. Why? The only thing that's happened is longstanding staff have been let go (well, and one newcomer already). His critics claim he is anti science. because he let go some scientists who are paid pharm lobbiests and vaccine patent holders (for instance, the illustrious Paul Offit, MD. Notorious for claiming that children can get 10,000 vaccines because they are just THAT safe). His critics must believe that this 15 or so staff are so special and irreplaceable that we are all going to die without them. There's 80,000 staff at the HHS.
I predict you will see most if not all of those staff members go immediately to their real bosses for a job. Like the former CDC head, Dr. Julie Geberding. Who, after lying to Congress about any link between MMR and autism, when their own research found it according to her staff, Dr. William Thompson, one of the coauthors on it who admitted they cooked the books to hide the obvious result. Which was, black boys under 36 months were at 1.5 times the baseline risk for autism after MMR vaccine. He admitted the took those cases out based on parents' drivers license address that finally got the result they were after, no difference between groups. You will find pharm funded groups who dispute this, like the group "Vaccinate Your Family". It's not hard to find people who disagree when they are paid to disagree. The critics of the overhaul keep repeating RFK isn't following "science". No matter how many times RFK points out, there isn't any reliable science because the scientists' publishings are paid for by pharm. Which inevitably begets pharm's result. Where is the truth on matters vaccine? What's true is none of us have the clear data to make an accurate assessment regarding safety of the schedule. It's never been tested. That is indisputable. As a sperate matter, proponents of the current schedule keep arguing vaccines saved millions of lives. It may be true. But, that's efficacy. And in science, efficacy comes AFTER safety. And again, there's no safety data because there are no placebo testing groups. We are to accept on faith the rise in childhood diseases can't have anything to do with vaccines because well, vaccines save lives. That isn't how science works. That's how religions work. The other area RFK is working on is food supply and getting chemicals out of some of our food. It's a herculean task, but it's finally starting with dyes being phased out. So far, 8 months or so in at this writing, seems like he's making some headway. I hope he continues to push for more transparency and accurate data collection. After the Senate hearing it was clear that RFK is extremely knowledgeable on the topic and the Senators are not. In addition, he pointed out their glaringly obvious affection to pharm's campaign donations. Prompting Senator Bernie Sanders to pose the question out loud "Everyone in this room took money from pharm. Are they all corrupt?". Well, YOU said it Bernie. Pharm is currently funding influencers to argue for RFK to be fired. Whatever happens with that is whatever happens. I think we can all agree the era of 'trust the scientists' is over. We are responsible for our health.
